See Some Examples from 2015
Ariel was one of our favorites. This costume doesn't sit all the way around the child. The waves sit on either side and the seahorses are mounted in part on her chair. We also created a mermaid tale for her, got the lovely red wig and made a seashell bra out of cardboard. Ariel was ecstatic!

Bat-mobiles were the most commonly requested costume. This one had "thrusters" with flames shooting out. For some bat-mobiles, we created large, non-functioning cardboard wheels, but on this one, we just attached flat wheel covers.
Yup, there was a pink Batgirl-mobile!

Optimus Prime was fun to make. It was the only costume that completely surrounded the child in the wheelchair. That's not always workable because in some cases, the person pushing needs to be able to see and monitor the child. In this case, however, it worked out just fine.
Here's the front of Optimus Prime. If you have someone on the team who is an awesome painter, you can have them create beautiful details like this one!
